IOS vs Junos part 1

1, router-id in junos without using route-id cmd, the junos will automate send /32 to every are in OSPF PID.

2, stub, NSSA, both will not send out 0/0 at ABR by default.

3, External route cann't summary inside OSPF conifg in Junos.

CSC part 2

I do something wrong on last post, the backbone carrier pop the label , because the label is pop too early, the ipv4 packet will not reach the correct PE router. so the traffic isn't work.

I check the configuration again, 2 key points on it,
1, In junos, The BGP inet-vpn update will base on inet.3 table, if the next-hop isn't on the table it will not update to peer.

2, The bgp peer configuration include the "resolve-vpn" this mean this prefix will using for next-hop resolve.

I did a night CR this morning, it's about radius protocol which proxy acct message to different target. After the CR, I ate something (piece of cake with egg) and I was surprised, the price from 17 to 20, and its increase from 10, to 12, then 15 and 17.

since junos is getting strong in most ISP in the world, we also chiose junos as our Backbone. from this point, I'm studying all junos opertaions around the all (hw, sw, arch, log....) the most insteresting is TABLE, in cisco, there are 2 types table, First, global routing table, Second, Vrf routing... but, in Junos. ...there are typs of table, Inet.0 Inet.1 Inet.2 mpls.0 BGP.0..............and your can import inet.0 to another table via a simple way. then point the static 0/0 as the default-route. I'll update more infor next time.

10 hours racing for ARP.

symptom:
Host A traceroute to Host B stop @ Host_B default_gateway, If clear ARP on the router. It back to normal.

From the beginning, I checked the STP, interface, routing. HSRP, Trunk interface, but, I still cann't define what the problem is. the we turn off the netflow option on the interface, the drop packet was stop increase. We think it's over, 10 mins later, AGAIN.....why....

We checked all task again, also capture the packet from vlan 128, it's huge packet from the vlan. My laptop cann't take it. So I stop capture the packet. after 2 hours. I think I can capture a smaller switch uplink only, not all vlan 128. Then I found, the Host_B do send the icmp echo to the Host_A with the wrong MAC address to some unknow host. I know what it is.

We get in. and head to the PASTA.
